I am Juecen Zhan, a street photographer based in San Francisco. Born in Nanjing, China, and trained as a software engineer, I have always moved between worlds — cultures, languages, and ways of seeing. Photography became my way of holding onto fleeting instants, especially those where the real world quietly slips into the imagined.

For me, street photography is not about chasing spectacle, but about catching the fragile alignments of light, movement, and emotion that turn an ordinary street into a stage for wonder. Whether in a playground, on a ferry, or in the middle of a busy fairground, I photograph to hold beauty still for just long enough that we can step inside it — if only for a moment.
